Planning application submitted at former University of Law, Christleton

16 September 2021

We are pleased to have assisted Bridgemere Land, with the Steve Morgan Foundation, Castle Green Homes and Blueoak Estates, with their full planning application which is seeking planning and listed building consent to deliver offices and 42 homes at the former University of Law, Christleton. The project includes the restoration of the grade two listed Christleton Hall which will be converted to offer 18 apartments, including four affordable homes. The scheme also includes sensitive improvements to other heritage assets, including a former walled garden on the site.

Planning consent in Formby

13 September 2021

We are pleased to have helped our clients Taylor Wimpey to secure outline planning consent for 286 homes on land north of Brackenway in Formby. Randall Thorp have been involved with the site since 2011 when we undertook landscape analysis and developed the concept masterplan which was used through the site promotion process. The site was successfully allocated for housing in the 2017 Local Plan for Sefton.

Appeal win in Bolton

10 June 2021

Delighted to have assisted our clients Harworth Group plc with this appeal win. The landscape scheme was prepared by TEP who were unable to present evidence due to professional conflicts. Randall Thorp presented the landscape evidence based upon the TEP scheme after it had already been agreed with the LPA that there would be adverse impact on landscape.

Planning approval in Blackpool

Our detailed TVIA (townscape and visual impact assessment) work has assisted another client gain planning approval. The 8 storey King Street office development will bring thousands of new jobs to Blackpool town centre.

Grand Union, Wembley

10 March 2021

Grand Union is a vibrant new canalside neighbourhood from St George Property Developers built on a 22 acre derelict site in Northfields, London. The scheme will provide new apartment homes with 11 acres of extensive public open space comprising plaza, informal garden spaces, water feature, canalside pathways and water side meadows. Residents will enjoy roof gardens, terraces and community gardens. Our work includes refining existing designs for the external public and private areas to provide detailed landscape layouts for planning and construction.

Supporting equity, diversity and inclusion in the built environment

We are proud to support the Landscape Institute's Rainbow Places initiative working to improve EDI in our sector.  The very first Rainbow Places national event saw Randall Thorp Partner Dick Longdin and his husband, actor and gay activist Adam Zane, take part in 'WORKS OUT' an online event discussing personal experiences of being out at work, from the 1980's to the present day. Joining Dick and Adam were Charlotte Harris (Director: Harris Bugg Studio), Rudhira Sambrey (Landscape architecture student) and Oli Grice Jackson (Senior Ecologist, FPCR).

National Design Code features our work
