Randall Thorp were appointed to carry out landscape consultancy services to assist with the delivery of an outline application for 149 new dwellings in Ordsall, Salford. A key part of the brief involved working with a physically constrained area of open space within the scheme to design a space which had a clear community led recreational function.

By working closely with the client, local community groups and the Council, we were able to propose a new community orchard, public square and cycle route all of which would be located next to an existing volunteer run cafe, which would form the basis of a future Ordsall-wide community hub for new and existing residents.
